The joyful citrus sinensis is so universally popular, it constitutes 70% of all the world’s citrus. the fruit of an evergreen tree of chinese origin, citrus sinensis is a hesperidium—a type of berry—and its essential oils are harvested by cold-pressing the outermost layer of the rind. it takes 800 oranges to yield one pound of oil.
