also known as spanish jasmine or royal jasmine, this varietal is less heady than the sambac variety with a fruity freshness. using the ancient technique enfleurage to extract essential oils from delicate flowers, the petals are soaked in non-evaporating oil which absorbs the fragrance. graniflorum was the most popular ingredient in french perfumery, appearing in many luxury fragrances.
