using a similar process to soap formulation, this fatty-alcohol is produced through the heating of coconut or palm oil. used in hair and body treatments as a stabilizer, emollient and thickener, it’s also a common carrier for other active ingredients.
benefit: similar to a grease or wax, it’s the main ingredient that allows hair conditioner to easily spread over the hair. highly beneficial in skin moisturizers, by creating a protective barrier that locks in moisture.
