Nestled within the Rusty Parrot Lodge in Jackson, Wyoming, The Body Sage Spa exists at the intersection of wild nature and deep restoration — a place where post-adventure aches give way to stillness, and where every treatment is an act of intentional care. Spa Director Kayley King has built her career on exactly that intention. From a young age, she followed every path that allowed her to care for others — and her philosophy has only deepened with time. She no longer prescribes a single road to wellness. She listens, and helps each guest find their own. Here, she shares the philosophy, the practice, and the Red Flower rituals that shape her approach.

RF: What first inspired you to pursue a career in the spa and wellness industry?
KK: At a young age I learned I love helping others feel beautiful and taken care of. I found myself following any path that allowed me to continue to take care of people in that way.
RF: How has your philosophy on wellness evolved over the years?
KK: I used to think that the more I educated and recommended what I knew to be successful, the more helpful I would be to others. What I have learned is that what works for one person won't always work for another, and people know what they need — they just don't always know how to achieve it. Intentionally listening, and helping people find their own path in wellness, and not just one that has been paved before, will have the most impact.
RF: What advice would you give to women aspiring to leadership roles in the spa and wellness space?
KK: Take care of your team so they can in turn take care of others. Our industry is so focused on helping guests take care of themselves — and that starts from within.
RF: What are your favorite Red Flower rituals for self-care?

KK: The Japan Ritual, both at the spa for a day of relaxing, or the at-home shower ritual, has become a must for me.
RF: Is there a particular Red Flower product, scent, or ritual that resonates with you most? If so, why?
KK: I love the Italian Blood Orange scent. It is the perfect blend of freshness and richness.
RF: How do you approach creating an immersive and memorable spa experience for guests?
KK: By making sure guests feel intentionally cared for — like everything we have done truly has them in mind. Everyone deserves a moment to feel cared for so they can put their best foot forward in life, and the spa should be somewhere they know they can come for exactly that.

RF: What is one wellness practice you believe more people should incorporate into their daily lives?
KK: Gratitude journaling. It actively rewires the brain to focus on positives rather than the negatives that life throws our way. It improves mental health, lowers stress levels, and creates greater emotional resilience. By consistently documenting things to be thankful for, it enhances self-esteem, improves sleep quality, boosts physical health — and it can be done in conjunction with any current wellness practice.
RF: How do you personally recharge and maintain balance in your life?
KK: By doing my best to be in the moment and give all my current energy to the space I am in, rather than trying to focus on too many things at once.
RF: Can you share a book, podcast, or mentor that has had a significant impact on your career?
KK: I love listening to and studying Peter Crone's work. Not only has it impacted my career, but my everyday life.
