Self-care is all about showing appreciation for the body that helps you get through the day, the body that cares for others, that provides the strength you need to work out, that allows you to wake up in the morning, breath the magnificent air, and appreciate the joy that it is to be alive. At red flower we craft our self-care experiences with inspirations from all over the world.

Recently, I reach for wonder and wellness in  self-care products inspired by the Middle East. My paternal great-grandfather hailed from Turkey, and in drawing inspiration from the warmth of the turkish hammam I feel connected to my heritage and roots.

Practicing self-care is essential for a healthy and happy mind. Yet we so rarely make it a priority - when in fact it should always be. We all deserve a relaxing, immersive and comforting  experience that lets us replenish  our energy when we feel drained. This is why I like to use the lemon coffee blossom olive stone scrub to detoxify my body for a euphoric lightness of being.

Taking a few minutes to rigorously scrub in deliberate, circular movements to deeply exfoliate my skin is more than just a self-care practice: it’s a grounding, sensorial experience that lets me focus and live in the moment, making me feel renewed, as fresh as the start of spring, when tulips begin to blossom.

Turning routine moments into special, relaxing ones is among my favorite acts of self-love, one I have strived to make a habit.

This rapturous experience is all about healing, detoxifying and releasing the whole body from impurities,, which I attain with the moroccan mint tea silt purifier. The white sage has wonderful healing properties that help reduce muscle pain, allowing me to work out more frequently, invigorating my physical and emotional wellbeing.

If I want to have a long, immersive, self-care experience,, I like to extend my restorative  routine by adding a generous amount of neroli cypress high atlas mineral soak into my hot bath. Blended with the purest dead sea salts, clay and other deep earth minerals and essential oils, this product transports me to the beautiful views of the Atlas Mountains, releasing all the tension from my body, delivering a calming effect.

When you can connect with your inner self, I find that that’s when one manages to liberate the body and mind from the tension of everyday worries, and spark light, discovering (or re-discovering) who we are and what matters to us, as natural and easy as the waves that reach for the shore.

Be restless and curious when it comes to beauty! I find it is a treat for sore senses. And so, I quite like swapping regularly between jasmine rose rhassoul clay and neroli cypress high atlas mineral soak, because mixing things up a bit makes life more exhilarating. My skin is always left with a scent of damascena rose and jasmine grandiflorum, and healed too, thanks to the wondrous benefits of rhassoul.

At red flower, we like to share our wisdom and the stories behind it when it comes to self-care practices. We believe that by helping someone to create delightful rituals for their body, mind and soul, we contribute to people’s wellbeing and we feel blessed to be trusted on this journey. It’s our pleasure to share self-care practices, like the hammam, from around the world. At the end of the day, we’re always informed and inspired by the beauty and self-care practices of different cultures around the globe.
