There was a house that some friends took for the summer, more like a ramshackle mansion about 70 miles from new york city.

A place where everything on the inside seemed reflected on the outside. A really good place. Endless rooms, hidden rooms, sweet warm air, big open windows, a porch perched over rolling green hills, a brook, babbling over stones and poetic people. Absolute freedom, roaming sensual freedom. I found red flower here, the wisdom in my heart. The recognition that my passion for life, my lust for beauty, my willingness to breathe deeply, love bountifully, find abundance in small gods could be expressed tangibly and shape hours into days and water into flowers. Red flower is this, the place most deeply alive, the trickling sweetness of joy, the call in every one of us that is abundantly, beautifully alive. The part of us that craves warmth, touch, breath, soft rain, bright stars and the burst of nature that transforms every winter into spring. Here it was, all around me.

There was no specific to the beginning, it is in me, it has always been and will remain so, shifting and changing but present. An appreciation for tender buttons, bird by bird, like beating gold to airy thinness just to see it take wing. And I recognized I had to let this feeling free, express it and say it, to risk whispering an idea into the universe and share my most private beliefs, to tend a garden together with the world. Red flower is to be here, to be awake and to be alive. It is beauty in its most honest form, unleashed energy, desire, a kind of awe. With a willingness to see transformation, potential, optimism. To be innocent to the morning and open to the night. To shed life on life.  Memory is alive, it’s in me, humming vibrantly.

To suggest that you can be and find respite in a beautiful thing is empowering. In the beauty industry, it is iconoclastic. At red flower come as you are, we promise only to listen and care, to deliver in being very very good to you, but also to be honest - here, we know beauty is within, shaped by attitude, by the willingness to feel pleasure, by the openness to lose oneself in a more majestic force.   At red flower, the flower unfurls before your eyes - everything that we touch and make and do is rich in feeling, an uncompromised and unparalleled drive to make things in such pure, unadulterated and thoughtful way that it too hums with potential. Red flower is a catalyst to health and longevity, it is a curative escape, it is a promise that is so worth believing. Light a candle, be in the light, in the generosity of nature, the deep wells of its forests and earthy paradise of its herbs. I made this to both tend to you but also for me to remember that life is full of nothing but everything beautiful. Today when I stand at 13 prince street I am sure that bountiful gardens grow tended simply by the rain and the sun and I am home.

"But the sea which no one tends is also a garden when the sun strikes it and the waves are wakened. I have seen it and so have you."  -- William Carlos Williams

red flower is a guide. a pathway. a catalyst to a more beautiful life. a being verb. access to inner perfection.

red is everywhere. flowers are everything.
